Why use natural oils for skin care?

Natural, unrefined, cold pressed vegetable and seed oils are high in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. It is like feeding your body with high quality food and natural ingredients only; food for your skin. They are also very moisturising, nourishing and healing for the skin. Natural oils are great for skin care because they don’t need anything else to be applied to your skin. Nothing added, nothing toxic, nothing synthetic, just natural oil. Creams and lotions have to contain emulsifiers and preservatives of some type, even if they are the natural type. Natural oils don’t need to contain anything at all to make them great protectors and feeders of your skin. And that is great, especially for more allergic type skins. Natural oils are great for skin, hair and nails and so simple. You can use them to moisturise your body. When you get out of the shower, just leave your body a little moist and rub a small amount (a spoonful) of the body oil in all over your body, at first it will go white as it is emulsified with the water and you will see how rapidly it is absorbed into your skin. You can choose the oil depending on your skin type. Good oils for dry skin are sesame oil, apricot kernel oil, argan oil, pumpkin seed oil, avocado oil and many others. You could even use coconut and olive oils.

And you can blend these together, with your favourite essential oils.Or you can use oil to moisturise your face. After washing your face, leave your face moist and use 3-4 drops of a blend especially made for face and massage it into your skin and see how soft and smooth your skin becomes. Some oils are powerful antioxidants, for example pomegranate and some are great for skin renewal, for example carrot seed or infused carrot. But there are also many other wonderful oils for face; hazelnut, jojoba, sunflower, jojoba, argan, avocado and the list goes on.
Did you know that you can use oil on your face even if it is acne prone? However, if this is the case, you can’t just use any oil, hazelnut, jojoba and sunflower are good oils for oily skin. Even oily skin needs oil and moisture. You can even use oils for your hair. In the most simple way, as a regular treat for your hair, you can use a couple of drops of oil and work them into your hair and even your scalp if you like. The 2 most effective oils for the hair are argan and hempseed. There is even something for your nails. To keep your nails in good condition, a nail and cuticle oil works wonders. Argan, camellia and castor are some of the oils that are specifically nourshing for the nails. These oils will even help brittle nails.
What part of your skincare routine do you use natural oils for and which oils do you use? I would have to say that one of my favourite oils is avocado. I love that smell and I love the texture and so rich, luxurious and moisturising.
